Malcolm Gladwell can go ahead and add another chapter to The Tipping Point. Just think, all it took for the protest to start was when some sophomore in sweatpants ran up and down a hall somewhere on campus howling, "Dude, BRO, let's go! They gonna fire Grampa Paterno!"
Dear Penn State Protestors:
Skip class more. Take up smoking while standing 100 ft. from the class your skipping. Go to that Harold and Kumar in 3D flic. On Friday, drive to an intrastate campus for the weekend, one that your ‘ol high school-buddies currently attend. On your way there, drive while texting your girlfriend whose still in high school. If you want to act like you belong in community college, Nittany Lion students, that is what they do in community college.
Do anything else on campus this weekend to pass the time besides show your support for Joe Paterno. It’s not about Paterno. It’s not about the board members who canned him. And it’s certainly not about you. Who needs the support this weekend in Happy Valley? Your football team, but even more importantly, the countless number of victims that probably go on wishing at times as if they were already dead.
All those bad scary movies you wasted your time watching over the month of October? Well yeah, they had to live it. They met the real monster. So wear that blue in honor of them and forget about Joe’s blues.

F*%K protocol. Chain of command? You own that town, Joe Pa. I thought we would never see another coach like you again. It turned out you were just as selfish and insecure as the rest of them.
Most go to community college not because they’re dumb, but because they have yet to apply themselves in this dysfunctional world of ours. I should know, I went to TWO of them. Are community college students above all this nonsense we see you doing on national TV? Probably not (but neither is Ohio State). So the thing is, we expect more from you.
This is what Penn St. means to the common American (before the crisis was made public): We think of Paterno and his historic football program, followed by images that epitomize a secluded state college town where everyone either works or supports the school in some shape or fashion. All in all, it seems like some privilege to live and/or attend school there.
The campus should be supportive, if not mourning this weekend. Certainly not protesting. This was a tragedy. Innocent people suffered-and will continue to suffer. The only thing worse than going through life suffering, I would assume, is to learn you have terminal cancer. Suffering is why we have to have PETA, food stamps, and coat drives.
You have the power in masses to make a difference tomorrow, even if it is just a band-aid. Everyone will be checking in, so please show us that you care more about the victims and your contemporaries on the field than you do a Junior Soprano with hair.
